Passengers are requested to keep a check on their flight status through link: Please stay tuned for further updates.”Also Check | Air India plane crash live updatesAn IndiGo flight operating between Kolkata and Ahmedabad had to return to NSCBI Airport on Thursday after becoming airborne, as Ahmedabad airport was shut following the Air India aircraft accident post take-off, according to officials.The IndiGo service 6E-318, which took off from Kolkata at 1.49 pm, had to turn back whilst in flight, confirmed an Airports Authority of India (AAI) representative in Kolkata.The aircraft, which had initially departed from stand number 53, was carrying 179 travellers. The plane touched down in Kolkata approximately at 2.52 pm, as stated by the representative.The Boeing 787-8 aircraft that met with an accident whilst heading to London had 242 individuals aboard, including both passengers and crew. Air India confirmed the breakdown of nationalities: 169 passengers were from India, 53 held British citizenship, seven were Portuguese citizens, and one passenger was from Canada.
