MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has appointed former India allrounder Hrishikesh Kanitkar as the head coach of the India A team for their upcoming England tour, which is scheduled to start from May 30. Rajib Dutta will be the bowling coach of the side, while Joydeep Bhattacharya will be the fielding coach.The Abhimanyu Easwaran-captained India A are scheduled to play three matches on their upcoming England tour – two against the England Lions (May 30-June 2 in Canterbury and June 6-9 in Northampton) and one against the senior India squad (June 13-16) after that. The ‘shadow tour’ holds significant importance as part of the preparations for the Indian senior team’s five-match Test series against England, which will start on June 20 at Leeds.Who’s that IPL player?The vastly-experienced Kanitkar, who played for India in two Tests and 34 ODIs, scored 10,400 runs in 146 first-class [email protected].
