Watch: Army shares footage of strike on LeT suicide bomber training camp in Kotli, PoK

NEW DELHI: Indian Army on Wednesday shared a footage of strikes at Abbas Terrorist Camp at Kotli claiming it to be the nerve centre for training suicide bombers of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists. The strikes that were carried out under “Operation Sindoor” destroyed the camp 1.04am.The site was a “key training infrastructure for over 50 terrorists,” the Army said. It is located 13 kilometers from the Line of Control (Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir).Other key terrorist infrastructures were targeted by the Army including Jaish-e-Mohammed headquarters, training camps and launch pads. The armed forces identified and struck four locations in Pakistan and five in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), acting on credible intelligence that these sites were terror camps disguised as health centres to avoid detection and bypass international sanctions, including those imposed by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), officials said. The LeT nerve centre in Muridke, located around 30 km from Lahore, was struck four times in rapid succession during the operation, officials said. Muridke, the group’s base since 1990, served as the training ground for Ajmal Kasab and nine others involved in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. It was also visited by 26/11 accused David Headley and Tahawwur Rana. The operation came in retaliation to the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 25 Indians and one Nepalese citizen.
