Shah Rukh Khan reveals the BIG secret to his age-defying look at 59: "I stick to...."

Actor Shah Rukh Khan, 59, has been defying age for many decades now, but now, looks fitter than ever, with his six packs, lean muscle, and chiseled face. The actor, who recently announced that he has given up smoking for good, maintains his lean frame through simple home habits and nothing extraordinary, he says.

Back to the basics

A few years ago, during a conversation with RJ Devanggana, SRK revealed secrets to his health and said that being basic is the key. He revealed, “I naturally lean towards very basic food. I stick to two main meals daily — lunch and dinner. Apart from these, I don’t snack or eat anything else. I’m not fond of lavish or elaborate dishes (mujhe pakwan pasand nahi). My meals usually include sprouts, grilled chicken, broccoli, and occasionally a small portion of dal. I’ve been eating like this every day for many years without much variation.”

Not finicky
However, the actor was quick to add that he is not sacrosanct about his regime, and tweaks it as per occasion. “If I’m flying, or at someone’s home for a meal, I have whatever they graciously serve — whether it’s biryani, roti, parathas, food cooked with ghee, or a glass of lassi. I don’t restrict myself when it comes to sharing a meal with others, ” he added.
Sleep habits
However, the actor always maintains that he does not sleep for more than 5 hours a day, and that too he ends up sleeping in the morning. (not usually advisable) “I usually head to bed around 5 AM. Just when (actor) Mark Wahlberg is waking up to start his day, I’m wrapping up mine. On shooting days, I wake up by 9 or 10 in the morning. After coming back home late at night — sometimes around 2 AM — I take a shower and get a workout in before I finally sleep,” he added.

He also added that he has really worked hard on himself, “At 55, I decided to take an unofficial break. With nothing much happening during the pandemic, I told everyone around me to pick up new skills — like learning Italian cooking — and to start exercising. I took my own advice, worked out consistently, and built a physique I’m proud of. “
