'Real double engine in Bihar is - crime, corruption': RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav slams PM Modi, Amit Shah after Mahagathbandhan meet

NEW DELHI: RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led central government on Thursday, stating that, “Bihar’s real double engine is crime and corruption.”
“The real double engine in Bihar is – crime and corruption. Bihar is number one in crime, unemployment and migration of labour,” Tejashwi Yadav asserted following the meeting of Bihar Mahagathbandhan held in Patna, ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.
He claimed that Bihar ranks highest in criminal activities, joblessness, migration of labour and “there is no law and order in the state.”
“PM Modi and the Home minister Amit Shah keep coming to Bihar, and they should answer what is happening in Bihar,” he further questioned.
The former deputy CM noted that the inaugural Mahagathbandhan meeting addressed Bihar’s current situation.
“We discussed matters related to poverty, unemployment and migration. We discussed matters related to poverty, unemployment, and migration,” he said.
He claimed, he observed widespread public discontent, stating, “There is a lot of anger among the people of Bihar against the government, which has been in power for the last 20 years.”
Earlier that day, Tejashwi Yadav consulted with Congress leaders regarding the upcoming Bihar election strategy.
The meeting included Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi, and Congress MP KC Venugopal. RJD’s Manoj Jha and Sanjay Yadav also attended the meeting.
Bihar anticipates an intense electoral contest between the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), comprising Janata Dal (United) under Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and the Bharatiya Janata Party, against the Mahagathbandhan, which includes Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and left parties.
The Bihar Assembly elections are scheduled for later this year.
