The incident occurred during Nair’s impressive innings of 89 runs off 40 balls, including a rapid 22-ball half-century.
The tension between Nair and Bumrah escalated following their collision, with Bumrah visibly angry. The situation was eventually diffused after Nair explained his position, and he later had a discussion with Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya. Mumbai Indians, batting first, posted a formidable total of 205 for five. Tilak Varma led the scoring with 59 runs off 33 balls, while Ryan Rickelton contributed 41 off 25 balls. Suryakumar Yadav scored 40 from 28 deliveries, and Naman Dhir added 38 runs in just 17 balls.
Delhi Capitals’ chase fell short at 193 runs in 19 overs, despite Nair’s aggressive knock. Karn Sharma was the leading wicket-taker with figures of 3/36, while Mitchell Santner claimed 2/43.
In the bowling department for Delhi Capitals, Vipraj Nigam took 2/41, and Kuldeep Yadav finished with impressive figures of 2/23. Mukesh Kumar also contributed with one wicket while conceding 38 runs.
