Following the ‘India’s Got Latent’ controversy, influencer Apoorva Mukhija, popular as ‘the Rebel kid’, has unfollowed everyone from Instagram. This step of Apoorva has come after her name was also mentioned in the FIRs filed after Ranveer Allahbadia’s controversial ‘Would you rather’ question sparked online fury.
While the influencer is following zero people at this very moment, the count of her followers stands at 2.9 million.
Apoorva is a social media influencer and YouTuber who used to share her unfiltered content across various platforms. She came on Samay Raina’s YouTube show ‘India’s Got Latent’ as a guest judge with Ashish Chanchlani, Ranveer Allahbadia, Jaspreet Singh, and others.
In the episode in which Apoorva appeared, one provocative question by Ranveer Allahbadia led to a huge row. His remark hinted at incest and was not recieved well by the audience. Though the in-studio live audience broke into laughter, netizens didn’t approve of the joke. Following a massive backlash, a formal complaint was filed against Ranveer Allahbadia, Apoorva Mukhija, Samay Raina, and the organizers for promoting inappropriate language and obscenity in the society.
As the matter escalated, YouTube deleted the said episode. Following the same, Samay deleted all episodes of ‘India’s Got Latent’ from YouTube. Speaking about the same in his social media story he mentioned, “Everything that has been happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all India’s Got Latent videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly. Thank you.”
Ranveer also issued a public apology, where he said, it was a lapse of judgment on his part.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Ranveer Allahbadia appeared in front of the Supreme Court. The YouTuber got interim bail but has been barred from releasing any content.
