IPL 2025: Sanju Samson slapped with hefty fine after Rajasthan Royals crushing defeat to Gujarat Titans

Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson has been fined Rs 24 lakhs for slow-over rate during match no 23 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
This was the second time Samson has been fined for maintaining slow over rate and it has costed not only the captain but also rest of the playing XI, including the impact player as well.
“As this was his team’s second offence of the season under Article 2.22 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct, which pertains to minimum over-rate offences, Samson was fined INR 24 lakhs,” BCCI said in a statement.
“The rest of the members of the playing XI, including the Impact Player, will be fined either Rs 6 lakhs or 25 per cent of their respective match fees, whichever is lesser.”
Gujarat Titans beat Rajasthan Royals by 58 runs on Wednesday. Chasing 218 for a win, the Royals were all out for 159 in 19.2 overs.
