During a post-match press conference in Lucknow following LSG‘s 12-run victory over Mumbai Indians in an IPL game, head coach Justin Langer created a lighthearted moment by answering a reporter’s phone call from “Mom” at 12:08 AM while discussing the match and injured pacer Mayank Yadav.
The incident occurred when Langer noticed a ringing phone placed near him on the press conference table with “Mom” flashing on the screen.

“Who’s Maa?” Langer asked before taking the call with the reporter’s permission and saying, “Mom, it’s 12:08 AM, I am at a press conference,” which sparked laughter among the journalists present.
The press conference followed LSG’s successful defence of their 204-run target, restricting MI to 191/5 and securing their second win in four games.
Langer addressed concerns about pitch conditions that were raised after LSG’s previous loss to Punjab Kings, where team mentor Zaheer Khan had suggested the conditions weren’t favourable for their team.

“To be completely honest, both pitches here have been excellent for the past two years. There was a little bit of emotion after the last game. My whole time as the head coach, I’ve really enjoyed playing here,” Langer stated.
He further emphasised his stance on the pitch discussion, saying, “It’s nice to have a little bit of variations on how they play. The less we talk about the pitches the better.”
