Chhaava box office collection Day 5: Vicky Kaushal starrer earns Rs 165 crore; to become Bollywood's first Rs 200 crore film of 2025

Vicky Kaushal’s historical drama Chhaava continues to dominate the Indian box office, inching closer to becoming Bollywood’s first Rs 200 crore film of 2025. The film, which crossed the Rs 100 crore mark in its opening weekend, has maintained a strong momentum even on weekdays.
According to early estimates by Sacnilk, Chhaava earned Rs 24.50 crore on Tuesday, showing a slight growth from Monday’s Rs 24 crore collection. The film has been on a steady upward trajectory since its release, registering Rs 31 crore on Friday, Rs 37 crore on Saturday, and a massive Rs 48.5 crore haul on Sunday. With these impressive numbers, Chhaava amassed Rs 116 crore by the end of its debut weekend.

By the fifth day, the total box office collection of the film stood at Rs 165 crore. The film’s Hindi occupancy rate on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, was recorded at 32.52%, with a gradual rise from 18.19% during morning shows to 51.70% for night screenings.

Meanwhile, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has urged Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to declare Chhaava tax-free in the state. “We appeal that the movie reaches a wider audience as the legacy and courage of this great Maratha king should be known to the generations to come. Our government strongly believes in ‘Dharmo Rakshati Rakshitah’, and this movie portrays exactly the same sentiments,” read the letter.

Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava features a stellar ensemble cast, including Rashmika Mandanna, Akshaye Khanna, Vineet Kumar, Ashutosh Rana, and Divya Dutta in key roles. With its impressive box office performance, the film is well on its way to setting new records in 2025.
