Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s Ponniyin Selvan co-star Jayam Ravi announces divorce with wife Aarti; says ‘decision not taken in haste’ | Bollywood Life

Jayam Ravi is a well-known actor from Tamil cinema. He has been a part of big movies including Tik Tik Tik, Thani Oruvan, Siren and more. Among his biggest hit is Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan that also starred Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and more. He was a part of Ponniyin Selvan I and II playing the role of Arulmozhi Varman. The actor always remains in the news for his films, however, this time around he is in the headlines because of his personal life. Jayam Ravi and Aarti tied the knot in the year 2009. They have two kids together. After enjoying the marital bliss for more than a decade, they have now decided to part ways. Jayam Ravi shared the joint statement on social media saying that the decision has not be taken in haste. In the note, he wrote that with a heavy heart he is announcing his separation from Aarti and that the decision has been taken in the best interest of both. He also requested for privacy from fans and media as the family deals with this big change. He wrote, “In light of this, I hereby kindly request all of you to respect our privacy as well as that of our family members during this difficult time and appeal to all of you to refrain from making any assumptions, rumors, or allegations in this regard and let the matter remain private.” He also appealed all to refrain from making any assumptions, rumours or allegations about his divorce from Aarti. Further, Jayam Ravi promised his fans that he would continue to entertain all with his films. He also expressed that he is grateful for all the love and affection that is showered on him. The statement has gone viral on entertainment news sections. The rumours of Jayam Ravi and Aarti’s separations spread like wildfire earlier when the latter removed all the photos of the actor from her social media account. Jayam Ravi still has pictures with Aarti and kids up on his social media accounts. Aarti hasn’t made any official comments about her separation from Ponniyin Selvan star.
