Trent Boult extends record for most wickets in IPL first overs

Mumbai Indians pacer Trent Boult on Monday further cemented his reputation as the most lethal bowler in the first over of Indian Premier League (IPL) matches.
Boult claimed his 30th wicket in the opening over of an IPL game, dismissing Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) opener Sunil Narine during MI’s first home match of the IPL 2025 season at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Boult now leads the chart for most wickets in the first over, extending his advantage over India pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who has 27 wickets in the first over of IPL matches. Boult has achieved this milestone in just 96 matches, whereas Bhuvneshwar took 126 matches for his tally.
Boult bowled Narine with the fourth delivery of the match, dismissing him for a two-ball duck. His ability to strike early has made him a crucial weapon for any team he represents in the tournament.
