Watch: PM Modi pays tribute to RSS founder Keshav Baliram Hedgewar in Nagpur, meets Mohan Bhagwat

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday paid a floral tribute to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) founder Keshav Baliram Hedgewar in Nagpur.
He also met RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat at Smruti Mandir in Reshimbagh, the administrative headquarters of the Hindu organisation.
PM Modi’s visit aligns with the Sangh’s ‘Pratipada’ program, which commemorates Gudi Padwa, the start of the Hindu New Year.
Talking about the visit, Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson CR Kesavan said, “PM Modi’s visit to Smruti Mandir today is indeed significant because this is the centenary year of RSS’ inception. Modi ji will be the first ever sitting PM to pay homage. The PM’s visit today is indeed true testimony and tribute to the way how RSS has selflessly sacrificed and contributed to nation building and how the RSS has staunchly instilled and promoted patriotism, and steadfastly preserved and protected by its culture, tradition and how the RSS continues to inspire youth to dedicate themselves for progress”
“This is in a stark contrast to the Congress who continue to divide Bharat on religious lines, for their vote banks of bigoted religious appeasement, while the Congress attacks the dharma and Bharat’s culture, it is the RSS and the BJP who stand by, protect, and promote Bharat’s culture and tradition,” he added.
Furthermore, PM Modi will visit Chhattisgarh later in the day to lay the foundation stone for multiple development projects.
“In Chhattisgarh, Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone, initiate commencement of work and dedicate to the nation multiple development projects related to power, oil and gas, rail, road, education and housing sectors worth over Rs 33,700 crore in Bilaspur,” an official release read.
