This is how much a Bollywood celebrity stylist charges for dressing up the stars!

In a recent episode of the “Figuring Out With Raj Shamani” podcast, actress Rakul Preet Singh shed light on the substantial expenses associated with celebrity styling in the entertainment industry. She revealed that hiring a stylist for a single red carpet appearance can cost anywhere from ₹20,000 to ₹1 lakh, or even more, depending on various factors such as the stylist’s expertise, location, and the range of services provided.

Singh emphasized that crafting a celebrity’s red carpet look involves a dedicated team. She stated, “There is a team to do that. You are not doing anything… it is expensive. A stylist can start from ₹20,000 for a red carpet look to ₹1 lakh for a single look, or even more. You pay for the stylist, the photographer, who shoots your look, and your hair and makeup team.” Singh also highlighted her longstanding relationship with her makeup and hair team, mentioning that after six years of collaboration, they have become like family, sometimes even waiving their fees.

Addressing whether celebrities purchase the designer outfits they showcase at events, Singh clarified that the financial arrangement primarily involves the stylist. She explained, “No, you pay the stylist, who sources the outfit. What stylists do is, they take a fee that covers everything from their assistants to the courier charges. This is why if you are wearing an international designer, the cost becomes higher.” Singh noted that designers often provide garments to actors for events, leveraging the exposure gained through social media to boost their brand visibility and sales. She added that she occasionally purchases outfits curated by her stylists, stating, “Ethically, I don’t like to take these for free.”
