In the modern fitness era, a plethora of diets seem to be the guiding success to weight loss. Be it keto, paleo, intermittent fasting, or more, each kind of diet suggests a different way to lose weight and get a healthier and stronger body.
In a video that is going viral all over social media, a woman has introduced a new diet to the world, called the ‘Switch On’ diet. Sherrie, a freelance model based in Seoul, shared a video describing the switches she made to her diet that led to her losing 4 Kg in 6 days.
“I have lost 4 kilos in six days and this is how I did it. First, let me break down ‘Switch On (diet)’, which actually helped me keep the weight off for a really long time. It is a 4-week program developed by a Korean doctor that actually helps you activate your fat metabolism while preventing muscle loss and improving your insulin resistance,” said the model in the video.
Losing weight without losing muscle mass requires proper nutrition and Sherrie ensured this by maintaining a constant protein filled diet. She also avoided the consumption of caffeine, alcohol, processed meat and sugar and incorporated fasting days in between.

The ‘Switch On’ diet

The model shared a detailed description of the diet along with a plan and food that you can and cannot eat.
Describing the diet in detail, she said, “In the first week, you do detox and gut reset with protein shakes, veggies, and high-protein meals.” “The second week is for muscle recovery with high-protein meals and fasts. Week three is to boost fat burning with more fasting and more high-protein foods,” she added.

How does the ‘Switch On’ diet work

According to the video, the diet forces the body to use its own fat as a source of energy without losing your muscles. It also helps in improving the body’s insulin resistance. The diet combines the right kind of food with a combination of workout and fasting periods.
Some of the forbidden items in the diet include caffeine, carbs, dairy, alcohol, sugar, saturated fat and processed meat. Items that a person is allowed to eat are multi-grain rice, boiled fatless meat, fish, skinless chicken, nuts, milk, beans, cheese, eggs, fruits.
Many reports on Medium and other websites state that the ‘Switch On’ diet was prepared by Dr Yong-Woo Park and aims to return metabolic abnormalities to their normal state.
