Mob attacks UP cops looking for suspect in MP

BHOPAL: After a string of attacks on MP Police personnel in the state this month, a mob attacked UP cops who had come looking for a suspect in MP’s Shahdol district Thursday night. Four suspects were arrested Saturday.
A police team from UP’s Maharajganj had gone to Irani Bada locality to arrest a suspect, Firoz Ali, police said. When the team was taking him away, a group of women and men manhandled the cops and tried to free him. Some policemen suffered minor injuries, an officer said. The UP cops battled their way through the mob and managed to bring Firoz to a police station. A case was registered against 18 people, Burhar PS in-charge Sanjay Jaiswal told TOI.
