Who is Tudor Dixon? Trump-backed businesswoman eyeing a political comeback in Michigan

Tudor Dixon, an American businesswoman, is eyeing another run for office in Michigan. She is also a conservative commentator and a former Republican candidate for governor.
Dixon hasn’t decided whether to run for the US Senate or governor, but she has made it clear that she wants to return to politics, reports Fox News.
Dixon, backed by US President Donald Trump in the 2022 governor’s race, made history as the first female Republican nominee for governor. However, she lost to Democratic incumbent Gretchen Whitmer by ten points.
In a post on X, Dixon said that she is “Considering Run For Michigan Governor Or US Senate.”
From business to politics
Dixon, a former steel industry executive, moved into political commentary and became well-known in conservative circles. She focused on economic growth, government transparency, and family values, building a strong support base. After losing the 2022 governor’s race, she stayed active through “The Tudor Dixon Podcast,” where she talks with conservative leaders about Michigan’s key issues.
A day earlier, Dixon took to social media to share her aspirations, stating, “Together, we can chart a path that grows jobs and drives down costs, brings manufacturing home, gives taxpayers their money back, makes our government transparent, and sets our kids up for bright futures.” Her focus on economic growth and conservative governance remains central to her vision.
Trump’s support and ‘America First’ agenda
Dixon’s political career has been shaped by US President Donald Trump, who backed her in the 2022 governor’s race. She continues to support him, praising his leadership and policies.
Earlier in a post on X, Dixon further praised Trump saying, “President Trump is leading the way nationally. He is delivering on his promises to secure the border, bring manufacturing jobs home, and boost energy independence. I am committed to standing with President Trump to deliver on the America First agenda here in Michigan.”
Dixon is not the only Republican considering a run. Former Representative Mike Rogers is thinking about another Senate bid after narrowly losing to Democrat Elissa Slotkin in 2024. State Senate Minority Leader Aric Nesbitt has already joined the governor’s race. Other possible Senate candidates include Representatives John James and Bill Huizenga.
‘Honour to serve the great people of Michigan’
Despite losing in 2022, Dixon remains a strong conservative voice in Michigan. She stays active, engaging with supporters and discussing the state’s future. “I will decide soon where my experience and talents would most benefit the state we love so dearly. It would be my honour to serve the great people of Michigan,” she said.
Her choice could have a big impact on Michigan Republicans. A Senate run could complicate things for Rogers, while a governor’s bid would put her in a tough race with strong Republican and Democratic challengers.
