Radhika Apte gets TROLLED for having Champagne while pumping breast milk for her child: 'You are giving wrong message...'
Radhika Apte attended the BAFTA Awards soon after giving birth to her daughter in December 2024. She shared a candid moment on social media, where she was seen pumping breastmilk and holding a glass of champagne. The post received mixed reactions from netizens, who commented on her choice to drink alcohol while breastfeeding.

Radhika Apte, known for her versatile roles in films like Manjhi, Parched, Pad Man, and Andhadhun, welcomed a daughter with husband Benedict Taylor in December 2024. Though private about her child, she recently shared a motherhood-related post but faced trolling for it.
Radhika got back to work soon after welcoming her daughter. Recently, she attended the BAFTA Awards, where her film Sister Midnight was nominated. She shared stunning pictures from the event and gave fans a fun behind-the-scenes moment—dressed in comfy pants and a t-shirt, she was seen pumping breastmilk with one hand and holding a glass of champagne in the other.

She wrote, ‘And now my BAFTAs reality (laughing face emoji). I have to thank Natasha @tashtash07 for making it possible for me to attend the BAFTAs. She scheduled the itinerary around my breast-pumping timings. She not only accompanied me to the washroom to express milk but, more importantly, brought me champagne in the loo.’

The actress shared in her caption how challenging it is to balance work and motherhood as a new mom. However, she felt grateful for the care and support she received that night. Despite the struggles, she dazzled on the red carpet in a flowy, semi-sheer lavender gown, with open hair, flawless makeup, and a bold red lip, keeping her look minimal yet stunning.
When Radhika Apte’s BAFTA picture went viral, some netizens praised her for normalizing the challenges of motherhood. However, others criticized her for holding a glass of champagne while pumping, questioning her choice as a breastfeeding mother.

While one user worte, ‘Are you kidding…you cannot have alcohol and breastfeed at the same time’, another one added, ‘It is sad that you are drinking while breastfeeding.’ A user also commented, ‘I am sorry to say Radhika you are giving a wrong message through this pic. If you are expressing milk while drinking, there is a evry high chance that the alcohol will be expressed in the milk and will be transferred to your baby. If its very unhealthy for the baby.’
Meanwhile, on the work front, Radhika was last seen in the English film Sister Midnight, playing a woman in an unhappy arranged marriage. The film also featured Ashok Pathak, Chhaya Kadam, and Smita Tambe. Up next, Radhika will star in the English film Last Days and the Hindi show Akka.
