RJD chief Lalu Yadav arrives at ED office in land for job scam case

NEW DELHI: Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Yadav and party leader Misa Bharti arrived at the office of the Enforcement Directorate to appear before the agency in land for job scam.
Ahead of Lalu Yadav’s visit, his son Tejashwi Yadav claimed that the cases are being filed against the party due to “political vendetta.” All teams of the BJP and IT Cell will work only in Bihar now.
“There is a legal system, and we all abide by it. If we are summoned, we go, but nothing really happens. It’s natural, isn’t it? If I weren’t in politics, there wouldn’t be any case against me. If I weren’t in politics, there wouldn’t be any lawsuits. But since we are in politics, cases are being filed based on political motives. This does not affect us. By now, they must have even lost count of how many times I, Lalu Ji, or my mother have been summoned by the ED and CBI. How many times has the Income Tax Department summoned us? Does anyone even remember? Whenever they call, we go, because we follow the law,” Tejashwi said.
“These people are scared. They are fearful, anxious. But no matter what they do, no matter how much they misuse constitutional institutions, no matter how much they try to harass us in their own way, the more they do so, the stronger we will become. And with even greater strength, we will form the government in Bihar this time,” he added.
Prior to Lalu and his family’s appearance before ED for questioning in land for job case, RJD workers gather outside Patna ED office.
Previously, the ED had submitted a chargesheet in this matter against Lalu Prasad’s family members in a Delhi court last year. The chargesheet listed his wife Rabri Devi and their daughters Misa Bharti and Hema Yadav, alongside others, as accused parties.
