BJP MP Manoj Tiwari celebrates Holi at his residence

NEW DELHI: BJP MP Manoj Tiwari held Holi celebrations at his residence on Thursday, as festive fervour gripped the nation on the eve of the festival of colours.
On the occasion, Tiwari, who is also a Bhojpuri actor and singer, sung Holi songs, including the popular ‘Holi Khele Raghuveera.’
Further, the Northeast Delhi MP said this year’s Holi is ‘special’ as the BJP won the recent assembly election in the national capital.
The BJP returned to power here for the first time since 1998, ousting the Aam Aadmi Party from office.
Meanwhile, Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta, Tiwari’s BJP colleague, celebrated Holi with specially abled children living at Asha Kiran Shelter Home in Rohini.
“I met the children and had a conversation with them. Though they were not in a situation to talk much, they were feeling relieved. I will keep this place under my observation and will keep visiting this place,” Gupta told reporters.
Also, she urged people to not waste water while celebrating the festival.
“I extend my greetings to people on Holi. I hope no one will waste water and Holi will be celebrated with natural colours because it is our collective responsibility to keep Delhi clean,” the chief minister stated.
Holi celebrations will be preceded by ‘Holika Dahan’ on Thursday evening.
