Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor talk about the experience of shooting Love And War: 'We shoot at nights and are mom-dad in the day'

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are currently shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Love And War‘. While Ranbir teams up with Bhansali after 17 years as he made his debut with the film-maker in ‘Saawariya’, Alia will collaborate with him after ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi‘. The film also stars Vicky Kaushal. Ranbir and Alia met the media today and celebrated Alia’s birthday in advance. Meanwhile, they also spoke about ‘Love And War’ and their experience on it.
Alia revealed that they have night shoots. “We are shooting a lot of nights right now. So, we shoot at night and we are mom and dad in the day, so it’s an interesting combination. We also shot ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ in the night and during night shoots, there is no noise, no sound, it’s just us. Everyday when we go on set, we sit and discuss the scene. With Sanjay sir, he makes you feel that 100 percent is just the beginning. He makes you feel you need to put in more than that. Every scene he makes you feel that this scene is very important. No day on the set is like a chilling day. You work hard and yet you are having a blast. To see him and Ranbir together and then just all three of us, it’s really fascinating.”
Ranbir also added, “Love and War is something which is every actor’s dream. To work with brilliant actors like Alia and Vicky and to be directed by the master – Sanjay Leela Bhansali. I worked with him 17 years ago. To work with him again, I can say this with so much of clarity that I haven’t met a human being who works so hard, who understands characters, emotions, music, Indian culture, Indian value system, as much as Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Just to be on his set, it is tiring. It is long. The process can be a little daunting but eventually, as an artist, it is so satisfying. He really nurtures art. As actors, it’s truly been amazing so far.”
Ranbir and Alia had worked together in ‘Brahmastra: Part 1’ and during this meet, Ranbir also confirmed that the second part of Brahmastra is definitely happening. But at the moment, Ayan Mukerji is busy with ‘War 2’.
