2 scribes held for ‘derogatory content’ against Telangana CM
Telangana CM Revanth Reddy

HYDERABAD: Two woman journalists were arrested Wednesday for allegedly circulating a video containing derogatory remarks about Telangana CM A Revanth Reddy and state govt. Pogadadanda Revathi, managing director of YouTube channel Pulse News, and reporter Bandi Sandhya were arrested by Hyderabad cybercrime police and remanded in judicial custody until March 26.
Their arrests stemmed from a complaint filed on March 10 by Telangana Congress’s social media cell, accusing them of spreading politically motivated content.
BRS working president KT Rama Rao criticised the arrests, questioning Congress govt’s commitment to free speech. “Kya yahi hain aap ki ‘Mohabbat Ki Dukaan,’ Rahul Gandhi Ji?” he posted on X.
The video at the centre of the case features an elderly farmer using abusive language against Congress politicians, accusing them of failing to fulfil election promises. Police are working to identify the farmer. Senior police officers said the footage was recorded on Feb 10.
Before her arrest, Revathi released a video alleging the CM was attempting to silence her and that her family was being threatened.
