NEW DELHI: When the state Madhya Pradesh was diving in happiness after Indian team created history in cricket match by winning the Champions Trophy title but for some it was not a happy night.
As Indian cricket team won the title, several people in Madhya Pradesh came out on the streets to enjoy the victory but some of them created ruckus in Dewas and Mhow on March 9.
In a video, shared by the PTI news agency, the police shaved heads and paraded those accused of creating ruckus in Dewas after India’s ICC Champions Trophy victory.
According to the reports, some youths misbehaved with City Kotwali during the celebration, and even tried to vandalise the police vehicle. After this, the police took the youths into custody, got their heads shaved and took out a procession.
A similar incident happened in Mhow where violent clashes erupted involving stone pelting. The incident, which occurred late Sunday night, resulted in injuries to four people, according to Indore collector Ashish Singh’s statement.
Police reports indicate that violence erupted in five distinct locations across the town in Indore district, resulting in damage to three automobiles and numerous two-wheelers, which were vandalised and burnt.
The collector confirmed that police has detained 13 people for their involvement in arson and violent activities in Mhow town. The situation is presently stable and under surveillance.
Explaining the cause of the incidents, the collector stated that the conflict originated near a mosque where participants of a procession got into an altercation with another group, leading to physical confrontation between them.
