Who is Amazon founder Jeff Bezos? The billionaire who wants to buy out Barbara Broccoli's stake in the James Bond franchise

The name Jeff Bezos is currently doing rounds on every social media platform. Following his alleged feud with 007 producer Barbara Broccoli, people have shown a keen interest in the Amazon founder. So, let’s answer one of the most searched questions nowadays.
Who is Jeff Bezos?
Born on 12 January 1964 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jeff Bezos is a businessman who formed one of the world’s largest e-commerce platforms, Amazon, and cloud computing companies. As of October 2024, several reports stated that Jeff has an estimated net worth of $204 billion. According to Forbes, he is the fourth richest person in the world.
Talking of his early life, Jeff’s parents parted ways when he was very young. He was adopted by Miguel Bezos at the age of 4. His interest in technology started early in life, leading him to convert his parents’ garage into a laboratory.
Young Jeff went to River Oaks Elementary School in Houston, Texas, and graduated as the valedictorian of Miami Palmetto High School in 1982. With entrepreneurial and leadership skills instilled in him from a very young age, he launched a summer camp called the Dream Institute for younger students.

He initially pursued a degree in Physics but later switched to electrical engineering and computer science. He was also elected to honors societies such as Phi Beta Kappa and Tau Beta Pi. The list of his academic achievements showed his craving to learn more and grow stronger.
The big dream, the beginning of Amazon
At the age of 30, Jeff became the youngest vice president by working on Wall Street at several firms including Fitel, D.E. Shaw & Co.
Thereafter, in 1994, he knew it was time to adapt to change. He saw the potential of the internet and was able to look into possible opportunities, so he left his job and started the beginning of Amazon in the same year.
Amazon started as an online bookstore and has transformed into one of the largest e-commerce platforms in the world. Furthermore, in 2000, he established Blue Origin intending to decrease the costs of space travel and facilitate human colonization of space. In 2013, he also acquired The Washington Post.
