Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai among top choices to replace Amitabh Bachchan as ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ host

Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, fondly known as Big B, is one of the most loved actors in Indian cinema. His outstanding and memorable performances in films such as ‘Sholay’, ‘Deewar’, ‘Zanjeer’, ‘Paa’, and ‘Piku’ have won the hearts of audiences for decades. Apart from shining on the big screen, he made a lasting impact on television by hosting the famous show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ (KBC).

Big B has been the face of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ (KBC) since its inception in 2000, when he was 57 years old, and as per Money Control, he is reportedly planning to step away from show. At 82 years of age, Amitabh Bachchan has expressed a desire to reduce his workload. Reports suggest he had informed Sony TV during Season 15 that it would be his final stint as host. However, when the channel struggled to find a suitable replacement, Bachchan agreed to continue for one more season. Now, with Season 16 on the horizon, it seems inevitable that a new host will take over.
In recent times, Bachchan has hinted at reducing his professional commitments. A cryptic tweet stating “Time to go” sparked widespread speculation about his retirement. Addressing these rumours on KBC, he clarified that the message referred to his work schedule rather than an impending retirement.

The search for a new host has already begun, with several big names being considered. A recent study by the Indian Institute of Human Brands (IIHB) and an advertising agency have identified Shah Rukh Khan as the leading choice to succeed Amitabh Bachchan as the host of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ (KBC), SRK had previously hosted KBC’s third season in 2007. The survey, conducted among 768 respondents (408 men, 360 women) from Hindi-speaking regions, highlighted public preferences for the show’s future host.
Alongside Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Mahendra Singh Dhoni also emerged as strong contenders. Their immense popularity and connection with audiences make them potential successors. However, there is no official confirmation about who the next host of KBC will be. Fans and audiences eagerly await confirmation on who will carry forward the legacy of one of India’s most beloved shows.
