Udit Narayan reacts to his kissing controversy with a female fan during 'Pintu Ki Pappi' event: 'Udit Ki Pappi toh nahi hai?...'

Veteran playback singer Udit Narayan recently found himself in the spotlight after an old video of him kissing a fan on the lips went viral on social media. The clip triggered mixed reactions online, with Bollywood celebrities, singers, and many others sharing their opinions on the matter. Udit has now addressed the ongoing criticism.
During the recent launch and music success party of ‘Pintu Ki Pappi‘, Udit Narayan took a lighthearted approach to the controversy. In a recent clip shared by Pinkvilla online, Narayan humorously commented on the film’s title while interacting with choreographer Ganesh Acharya. He remarked, “Kya title rakha hai inhone. Title toh change kar dena chahiye aapko. Pappi toh theek hai… bahut khubsoorat title hai aapki ‘Pintu Ki Pappi’ aur… Udit Ki Pappi toh nahi hai? Ye bhi ek ittefaq hai ke abhi ye release hona tha.” (“What a title they have chosen. You should change the title. ‘Pappi’ is fine… ‘Pintu Ki Pappi’ is a very beautiful title, but… it’s not ‘Udit’s Kiss,’ is it? It’s also a coincidence that it had to be released now.”)

He then clarified that the video causing a stir was not recent but was actually recorded two years ago during an event in Australia. “Waise, 2 saal pehle ka video hai vo, Australia me jo aap dekh rahe hain. Toh badhai deta hoon aapko” he added.
Earlier, after facing criticism, Udit told ETimes that he is neither ashamed nor embarrassed. “Why should I be? Do you hear any regret or sorrow in my voice? In fact, I am laughing as I talk to you. It is not something sleazy or secret. It is there in the public domain. My heart is pure. If some people want to see something dirty in an act of pure affection, then I feel sorry for them. I also want to thank them,” he said.
