Did you know Nitanshi Goel was in class 9 while shooting for Kiran Rao's 'Laapataa Ladies'?

Nitanshi Goel, who won hearts with her stellar performance as Phool in Kiran Rao’s ‘Laapataa Ladies‘, earlier revealed how she managed to balance her studies with her acting career. In a candid conversation with YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, the young actress shared that she was in Class 9 when she shot for the film and had to juggle her exams alongside the demanding shooting schedule.
During the interview, Nitanshi mentioned that she had taken her exams just before the shoot commenced and, incredibly, had to appear for her final Class 9 exams just a day after filming concluded. Despite the challenges, the actress ensured that her academics were not compromised. “I took my exams just before the shooting of Laapataa Ladies, and a day after the shooting, I had my Class 9 final exams. So, the time I got to prepare for my exams was during the breaks in between shots. I used to carry my science and maths books with me,” she shared.
Nitanshi credited her mother, who is a teacher, for helping her stay on track with her studies. She also highlighted how her experience in television helped her develop strong memorization skills, which proved beneficial in academics as well. “I could memorize five-page dialogues within minutes, which also helped me recall my studies quickly, leaving my friends amazed,” she added.
The actress also opened up about her journey in the industry, recalling her audition for ‘Laapataa Ladies’. She revealed that Aamir Khan had asked if she had any prior theater experience, to which she replied that she hadn’t, as she was too young for it. Instead, Nitanshi explained that her craft developed through sheer practice, she used to give five to six auditions daily, performing different roles based on casting directors’ feedback. This process, she believes, significantly honed her acting skills.
