Brian Musgrave, one of the men whom Representative Nancy Mace (R-SC) accused of sexually assaulting many women and videotaping those, broke his silence in an interview with CNN rejecting all the allegations and regretting that for the rest of his life, every time someone googles his names, these ‘baseless allegations’ would surface. On the floor of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Mace named her ex-fiance Patrick Bryant and accused him of rape and named four of his conduits, including Musgrave, who allegedly recorded sex acts without consent.
Nancy Mace created a ripple as she narrated her personal account of suffering she narrated “the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth” with her hand on a Bible.
Musgrave told CNN that he is an old friend of Bryant and he was the best man at Bryant’s first wedding. It is true that they own a rental condo together in South Carolina where, as Nancy Mace alleged, the acts of sexual exploitation took place but Musgraves said there is no truth in that and he does not believe the allegations against Bryant.
“For the rest of my life, when someone Googles ‘Brian Musgrave’ this is going to be the thing that comes up,” he said. “I’m completely uncertain what tomorrow is going to be business-wise.”
His wife, Jen, said the speech was like a bad dream. “He’s nowhere near any of those things that she was accusing him of,” she told CNN. “Anyone who knows him, there’s just no way it would ever be possible so to have someone say something like that, in public, it just blew my mind.” “It made me mad to think that someone could say that without an ounce of truth behind it,” she added.
Musgrave’s lawyers said they asked Nancy Mace and her team to talk to them away from the House floor but the offer was not addressed.
