These days, marriages that last a lifetime have become quite rare. It is often said that families that eat together, stay together and emphasising on this Dr. A Velumani- Founder of Thyrocare, recently shared his secret of a happy marriage.
Talking about what makes a marriage survive the test of time, Dr. A Velumani said in a post on X that there are two types of people–
“1. Intelligent enough to Learn a good deal of cooking. They enjoy a happy married life by building bilateral relationships.
2. Lazy enough to think that cooking is waste of time. Even if they find a rich spouse, they struggle in generating or sustaining relationships and stressed.
This is true in families with annual income of 5 to 25 lakhs.
Parents who fail to teach cooking to children may repent.”

Doing household chores together can help couples bond

He also said that cooking or doing household chores together, can help couples bond. After all, food has the power to bring families together and create lasting memories. “Food is the best route to get to heart. #Discipline is different kind of fun,” he added.
Reminiscing his own happy marriage with his late wife, who was working with SBI, Dr. A Velumani shared that while they were a working couple, the regularly took time off to do household chores together. This helped them bond as a couple, which positively impacted their marriage. Appreciating his wife’s selfless efforts in nurturing their families, he further wrote, “My wife Late Mrs. Sumathi Velumani built and nurtured 2 big families. Mine and hers. #MissYouDarling.”
Dr. A Velumani, Founder of a INR 5000 crore company, also added, “Fortunately I enjoyed cleaning vessels. Ps: She was working wife (SBI).”
