Akshay Kumar is known for his fitness, discipline, punctuality and a his healthy lifestyle. It’s not news to anyone now that he wakes up at 4 am and sleeps by 9 30 pm. Akshay is also always the most punctual star to arrive on the set. In a recent conversation, where Akshay was also accompanied by Tennis star Sania Mirza, he opened up on the importance of discipline.
During a conversation with Republic Plenary Summit, Akshay was asked about stars lacking discipline and arriving late on the set. He replied, “First of all, I will say, I don’t want to be a star. Because stars raat mein nikalte hain. (Because stars come out at night.) I want to be the sun. I don’t want to be the star.”
He further lauded Sania Mirza for her discipline and asked her the importance of discipline. Akshay said, “And jo baat aapne poochhi about discipline. Sania ji yahan par baithi hain. (And about what you asked regarding discipline, Sania ji is sitting here.) She is a sports lady. She has done so wonderful for our country. How important is discipline? Ask her if she has where she has reached, was it without discipline? It is not possible! She had to be disciplined, she had to get up in the morning, go play tennis. Was it easy? Discipline is indeed an important thing.”
Akshay confessed he gets frustrated when people ask him why does he sleep so early. He said, “The worst thing is a lot of media asks this question, ‘Sir, why do you sleep so early?’ Toh bete main kya karu? (So, what should I do?) How can this be a question? Don’t you think they should ask the person why they sleep so late? They should be asking that, but things have changed. It is important to change this).”
On work front, Akshay who was last seen in ‘Skyforce’, has ‘Housefull 5’, ‘Jolly LLB 3’, ‘Bhoot Bangla’, among other movies lined up for release.
