Govinda’s former secretary and longtime friend, Shashi Prabhu, passed away on Thursday at 4 PM at his residence in Niranjan Society, Chikuwadi, Borivali West. According to sources, Prabhu had been battling heart issues and had recently undergone bypass surgery. His funeral took place at 10 PM, where an emotional Govinda was seen mourning his close friendās demise.
In viral videos circulating on social media, the actor appeared heartbroken, wiping away tears as he bid farewell to Prabhu. Reports suggest that Govinda rushed to Prabhuās residence to console his grieving family and was visibly distraught.
Govindaās current secretary, Shashi Sinha, spoke about the actorās deep bond with Prabhu. In a conversation with ETimes, he shared, “He was Govinda’s childhood friend. From the very beginning, they shared a close bond, and for many years, he also worked for Govinda. I got to know him later. But during Govinda’s early struggles, he was like a brother to him. Govinda loved him like a brother, and their relationship remains the same to this day.”
Sinha further mentioned that Prabhu played a significant role in handling Govindaās political affairs. However, when asked if Prabhu was instrumental in bringing Govinda into politics, Sinha clarified, “No, there was nothing like that.”
