Shahid Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor shared the screen space in Panak Kapur’s ‘Mausam‘. While the film failed to impress the audience, the lead pair was loved by their fans.
In a throwback interview with Hindustan Times, Shahid humorously admitted that he had to step up his fashion game to match Sonam Kapoor’s high standards. He shared that working with Sonam made him more fashion-conscious, hoping to have finally earned her approval.
Sonam and Shahid shared a noticeable off-screen chemistry. Sonam, who usually keeps to herself on set, found things different with Shahid. She admitted that while many see him as shy, she is actually more reserved. Their bond grew during ballroom dance rehearsals in Scotland, where they got to know each other better.
The actress further dismissed rumours of a tiff with Shahid Kapoor, stating that their only disagreements were about his fashion choices. She emphasized that they never had any major conflicts.
Shahid agreed, describing their bond as a love-hate relationship. Sonam Kapoor playfully revealed that despite his impressive eight-pack abs, he wasn’t allowed to flaunt them in the film. She shared that they even tried convincing director Pankaj Kapur to include an item number to showcase his dancing skills and physique.
Shahid admitted that he also tried persuading the director, suggesting an item song set around an aircraft to showcase his physique, given his role as an airforce officer. However, his father, Pankaj Kapur, firmly rejected the idea.
