'NEEK' OTT release date: Dhanush's third director to stream from THIS date

Dhanush’s latest directorial venture, ‘Nilavukku Enmel Ennadi Kobam‘ (NEEK), featuring debutant Pavish in the lead role, is now gearing up for its OTT release. The film, which hit theaters recently, garnered mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike. Dhanush had previously impressed as a director with ‘Pa. Paandi’ and ‘Raayan,’ but NEEK failed to live up to the high expectations set by his previous works. Fans who anticipated a compelling story and strong execution were left somewhat disappointed, leading to an underwhelming box office response.
Despite the film not meeting theatrical expectations, there is renewed interest in ‘Nilavukku Enmel Ennadi Kobam’ as it prepares for its digital release. According to Pinkvilla, the movie is expected to premiere on an OTT platform by the end of March, with tentative release dates falling on either March 21 or March 28. However, an official confirmation regarding the streaming platform and exact release date is still awaited. Given the curiosity surrounding the film and its reception, its performance in the digital space remains to be seen.
Dhanush, who made a successful directorial debut with ‘Pa. Paandi,’ returned to filmmaking after seven years with ‘Raayan,’ which became a major commercial success, earning over Rs 150 crore at the box office. With such a strong track record, expectations were naturally high for ‘NEEK,’ even though Dhanush himself did not act in the film. However, audiences felt the movie did not fully deliver, leading to mixed reactions and debates on whether it lived up to the standards of his previous works.
With ‘Nilavukku Enmel Ennadi Kobam’ transitioning to an OTT release, Dhanush is now focused on his next directorial project, ‘Idly Kadai.’. Unlike ‘NEEK,’ Dhanush will not only direct but also star in ‘Idly Kadai,’ which is set for a theatrical release on April 10. As fans look forward to this upcoming film, all eyes are now on NEEK’s OTT release to see if it can find a wider audience in the digital space.
