Hollywood star Angelina Jolie made a special visit to Alabama to support her daughter Zahara at a brunch aimed at raising awareness about period poverty.
The event took place at a Hotel in the city, where Zahara served as the keynote speaker. The star kid, who joined Spelman College’s chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) Sorority in November 2023, delivered a powerful speech on the subject of ‘period poverty’, that had the audience giving her a standing ovation. This subject refers to women and girls facing insufficient access to menstrual products, education, and sanitation facilities.
Keeping to the white theme of the event, Angeline rocked a satin shirt dress, while Zahara opted for a short and elegant lace number. According to the non-profit organization’s president and CEO, Adeyela Bennett, Angelina attended the event to support her daughter and to support the NGO’s goal of ensuring that every young girl and woman has the products needed to live her life to the fullest.
This is one of Jolie’s first appearances since her divorce from Brad Pitt was finalised.
Jolie and Pitt share six children – Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne.
The actress, who was a regular at the awards season, was snubbed of an Oscar nomination. Amidst the awards season, the actress and philanthropist was seen participating in volunteer efforts to assist families affected by the recent wildfires in Los Angeles.
On the personal front, the actress was in the news when her son Pax met with another e-bike accident. This accident came just weeks after he had to be rushed to the emergency room after sustaining injuries from his accident.
