7 fashion trends we spotted at Coach, Off-White and more at New York Fashion Week SS’25

Donya Momenian

With the end of New York Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2025, we’re looking back at some of the chicest fashion trends we spotted. Scrolling through pics and videos of all the fashionistas in New York City, there are certainly a few similarities we noticed both on the runways and in the streets.

While the fun of fashion is seeing everyone’s creativity, trends reflect the time, setting, and environment and allow both designers and consumers to interpret something similar in their own way. We saw plenty of that this season, with imaginative runways, star-studded front rows, and candid street-style photos galore.

The Teen Vogue editors narrowed down some of the most prominent trends we spotted this season. Below, read all about the fashion trends you’ll want to incorporate into your own outfits soon.

Did this look ever really go out of style? Perhaps not, but we couldn’t help but notice them everywhere, from the front row to the runway. (G)I-DLE’s Yuqi demonstrated how to give them an edgy feel at the Tory Burch show. Model and designer Ella Emhoff strutted down the Coach runway in point-toe heels adorned with a bow for a classically chic look.

Both on and off the runway, dresses with drop waists caught our eye. From Tanner Fletcher’s whimsical pale yellow number to Ayra Starr’s beautifully draped front-row look, there was plenty of proof that this design feature can fit any aesthetic. Check out the runways of Sandy Liang, Tibi, Christian Cowan, PH5, Alice + Olivia, and Off-White for more inspiration.

The sheer trend isn’t going anywhere for a moment. Stars like Camila Cabello and runways like Prabal Gurung’s are making sure of that.

Similar to drop waist dresses, low waistlines in general are taking the front seat. Whether you show some skin with low-ride pants or just wear a belt around your hips to keep it modest, this trend makes any look feel cool. There were plenty of examples at the Off-White and Tibi shows.

Reimagined Peplums

Don’t worry peplum tops aren’t back quite yet, but in the meantime, you can find some solace in the fact that they are getting an update. Adopting the bubble trend, voluminous peplums bounced down the runway of Bach Mai. At Nanushka, a subtle peplum was camouflaged by fringe. Phillip Lim, Jonathan Cohen, Allina Liu, and Khaite presented their own interpretations as well.

Plunging Necklines

This season, looks got an extra bit of dimension with deep cut necklines. Bach Mai opted for the no-necklace trend, while Off-White opted for a charm necklace, showing the versatility of this daring trend.
