The season may have ended for one of, if not the biggest revelation for Indian cricket in the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, despite a horrendous season for Rajasthan Royals, ends his maiden campaign with his head held high. The teenager accumulated an impressive 252 runs in 7 matches, scoring an unbelievable century and several other electric knocks in the course of the season.Suryavanshi ended the season with a half century for the Royals, ensuring that he did his part in preventing his side from ending the campaign at the bottom of the points table. SUBSCRIBE NOW!Speaking to RR head coach Rahul Dravid following the win over Chennai Super Kings, Suryavanshi was quizzed by the former Indian international on how he has been adjusting to the attention and popularity.

In response to Dravid’s probe as to how many people called and texted him after him show-stopping maiden century against Gujarat Titans, he replied, “There were more than 500 missed calls, but I’ve switched off the phone. A lot of people approached me after the century, but I don’t like that a lot. I kept my phone switched off for 2-4 days. I don’t like having too many people around. Just my family and a few friends, that’s enough.“

As Suryavanshi departs for the Under-19 tour and camp, Dravid reminded him that every bowler in the IPL will be ready for him when he walks up to the crease next season.
