It should be emphasised that while smaller stocks have a higher potential for growth, larger equities carry less risk.

ELSS or Equity Linked Saving Scheme is a high-return equity fund that also reduces taxes. It is one of the best investments to take advantage of the tax refund provisions under the Income Tax Act is an ELSS. Investing in this scheme helps receive tax benefits of up to Rs 1.5 lakh per year under Section 80C of the Income Tax Act. Investments in ELSS come with a 3-year lock-in period following the purchase of the mutual fund units.
